"These really are the best days right now..."

Hey all,

So another week passes here in La Blanca and now its beginning to rain! Man I almost forgot what the rainy season was like down here...rains HARD all day and all night...so crazy!!

Also for some reason there have been helicopters landing in the soccer stadium in front of our house all week...one day 3 landed at the same time...I have to learn how to fly those puppies they look sooo cool!

Something that I've really learned to love about this mission or life in general is a good challenge...I've noticed that a lot of the people that many missionaries baptise are not ready for baptisim but for one reason or another they are baptised anyways. This usually happens with many of the people that never had the opportunity to go to school. Anyways, we received a reference (referral) from one of the members down here of someone we could visit, Nora Barrios, and I love it! She is a pretty intellectual person as far as most go around here, and more than that when we do teach she asks questions and responds with knowledgeable insight.

It's when I find people like Nora that I can see that hunger for knowledge and an open mind that the mission begins to become more exciting! More than anything it's because with people like her I can see a growth and a development...it's like the light bulb in her head begins to flicker and its soooo fun to see that when you teach people.

I don't know how a lot of missionaries like to teach their investigators, some with a mountain of scriptures and others with non stop talking...but for me I've found that, believe it or not, the best way to teach ANYONE is with good ol COMMON SENSE!! Well obviously if Christ did it like this, and he is perfect and our example....shouldn't we do it like him by someone holding that authority...AHHHHHHHH!! The light finally gets switched on.

Anyways, as of this past week she is my favorite investigator that we have because I can see that once and for all she's tired of walking around in the dark and wants to have those lights turned on, for her and her family.

We challenged her to be baptised at the end of the month and she accepted if by that time she felt in was right...which is one of the best answers I've heard....I don't want to baptise people that go inactive but people that will progress to the temple!!!

These really are the best days right now...no more worrying about the language or about weird comps or areas but just DOING IT!!

Like how hard is my day??...I wake up study Preach my Gospel, and go out and meet some of the coolest people out here and tell them that GOD DOES LOVE THEM and that he's waiting for them to come home!!!

Anyways, my comp Elder Ryan Thomas is from Riverton Utah and he is just a little goof ball, lol!

But yeah.... I sweat all day and all night, La Blanca is one of the hottest areas in the mission so....HOT HOT HOT!!!!

And be sure to thank everyone for all their letters and prayers!

As for the memory card, I came out with 2 but one got stolen so I have to save up till I have enough money to get another one...sorry.

And for the packages, I LOVE THOSE!!!! I will admit I have put a few pounds back on but we are playing soccer again so that shouldn't last for too long!!

Sorry that there aren't any photos right now...the computer here does not want to cooperate with me lol.

LOVE YOU ALL TONS,
Aloha!!
E. Marquis
