So my mistake....I thought that transfers were this past week but they aren't going to happen till this Wednesday...so just have to wait another week to see if there are any changes, lol, it would be pretty cool if I had changes with Thomas, really good guy, its always fun.
And about that little note that I got about the family reunion.....SOUNDS LIKE A LOT OF FUN!!!! I was talking to Thomas and then it hit me...holy cow, its summer time!!! Its like i'm just a work a hollic now and it completely slipped my mind that it was now summer and schools out and all that stuff, so fun....or it could just be that fact that the temperature never changes down here and its just always summer lol, who knows..!!!
Something fun that we did this week was that we got the office to bring down a huge outdoor screen so that we could do an outdoor movie for the branch...something fun for them and the investigators before I took off. And it was sooo fun! Big screen and huge speakers, it was like the movie on the lake type of deal that they do back home!!
Also, we put 3 more baptismal dates!!
Mom's questions:
Do you have new investigators you are working with?
Lol, yeah at one of the family home evenings we were doing with the members, we found a man named Jesus there....pretty interesting guy overall, lol. But yeah he wants to learn more of the...gospel of Jesus Christ. It kills me sometimes how parents will just think to name their children after Jesus...I've bumped into a few in my time here, lol.
If you are in a new area...did the old missionaries leave you a few that are ready for baptism...like you always leave when you are transfered ? :)
Hope so...but still in La Blanca for now.....sorrry, lol.
What is the most unique cultural observation you have seen this week?
Don't know if this is a cultural observation or not but its pretty interesting to see a man tear down a house and completely rebuild it in a few days times! Not saying that these homes are of the soundest structure but yeah most homes consist of brick and sticks and palm tree leaves for the roofing..lol.
Do you have a spiritual thought or experience you can share with us?
While teaching Reina this past week, she opened up to us about a lot of things. About her life and everything and of how the night before we contacted her she was going through some pretty tough problems and was asking for help from God...then the next day we passed along...which was nothing unusual, I've seen this woman a dozen times but something told us to go and talk to her. It was just something special to me that she said, that at the moment she needed God most, we showed up....she still needs more time before she is ready for baptism, but when she is, she will be one of the strongest members here, I know it!
How are your shoes holding up? :)
Pretty good. Boots are lasting pretty nicely, and the shoes, I just need to have part of the soles restitched to the body.
Should last me till I get home though.
But yeah, also not too much to report this week, I'm next week promises to be a little more lively!!!
