I'm back in Coatepeque again....

Hello all!

So I´m back in Coatepeque again. The reason I´m here is because the elder that was here before just got called to take one of secretaries spots in the office and they said they wanted someone that could work with 2 greenies and knew the area...so I´m here in La Blanca..and it is HOT!!!!

Where you are?
I am in zone Coatepeque again, in La Blanca. We went to the beach the other day and walked around which was fun. From the beach you can just walk down the shore for about 15 minutes and BOOM! you're in Mexico.

Do you like it?
Yeah, its just SUPER hot, I'm sweating all day long again and I'm turning into a little red shrimp lol. And the area is out in the middle of nowhere. You can walk in just about any direction that you want for like 2 hours and its still my area, so at least I´ll never run out of people to contact.

Where did Elder Langi go?
E. Langi is still tagging along with me for now. We are working in a trio now. This is the first time for me, but from what I´m seeing and hearing this is what President is doing in a lot of areas. It´s pretty cool though, I´m not just stuck out in the middle of nowhere with one guy so i'ts pretty fun, lol.

What is your apartment like?
It´s so nice. Its brand new and clean and it has windows, so nice. We still don't have a hot water heater to take showers with so thats still pretty cold, lol. But, if you take a shower between 10 and 11 the water is usually REALLY hot because of how hot it gets outside. Like, the water we use for our house comes from this huge black water tank on top of our house and the sun just heats that baby right up.

Ward or branch?
Back to working in a branch. Yesterday was my first Sunday there in La Blanca and the branch president comes up looking for people to give talks (because he never assigns anyone to talk apparently) so I gave another talk this week about mission work and how I want to turn our branch into a ward soon. Then the sunday school teacher for the adults never showed up so they were like, would you mind Elder...please...Elders are called to serve, lol....so I helped them with that too, lol. Needless to say, serving in a branch is more like running the branch. I set up a lunch appointment with the stake president last night so we´ll probably be talking about some replacement callings, lol, and new teachers, so we can get this place running again.

How many people?
Pretty decent. Usually its around 50 people every Sunday but yesterday we had 72! lol, cool beans.

Do they have strong priesthood?
There´s a couple but we have to go get some new ones, lol.

What was church like on Sunday?
Pretty good. Just need to smooth out the rough edges. But we do have a member that feeds us every Sunday so thats nice.

Will you do your own laundry and cooking here?
No, there´s not really any time for that so I'm going to use the wash lady here...she also cooks for us most of the days for lunch.

How far away is a store or whatever to get what you need?
There are some small stores around but the good stuff is here in Coatepeque. It's pretty much the exact same setup as when I was in Amparo.

How long does it take you to get to where you email?
About an hour..by bus.

Where do you email from?
La Butaka...the same internet café that I used when I was here before.

Did you leave some of your clothes that didn't fit in your old place?
Yeah, if you do send some new pants... black pants without cuffs would be great. Those always rip and its easier to maintain without the cuffs.

Love you all tons,
E. Marquis
