Hey there Family and friends,
Ok so this past week has been soooo hectic! To start off the week the water in Pueblo Nuevo stopped working to we haven´t had any running water for like a week and its not supposed to be fixed for 8 more days. Fortuantely it rains like its monsoon season daily so thats nice. Then about Thursday I think I ate something bad because I was barfing something fierce, lol! But that only lasted for the day.
Friday we had a baptism down in San Felipe which was super cool! The kid and his brothers are members but the parents aren't....yet, lol. And since its like a little branch the leaders and members are all like little kids and we had to wait 1.5 hrs. for someone from the presidency to show up for the baptism but he came and we got started. I said the baptismal prayer and was going to dunk the kid and I guess he was afraid or something because he struggled to go under the water so I just had to scoop his legs and dunk him, lol, but in the end he was baptised lol!!!
Immediately after this we had to rush to the busses to catch a chicken bus to Xela (Shay-la) lol and that 'too bad other than I got ripped off on the bus. I guess because I'm still a little too white. We finally got to the terminal just to find out that we missed our bus. So we had to do like a little bus hopping trick trying to get to Nahuala (Na-wa-la). In the end me and Elder Burton were stuck in a little micro bus and they are pretty small. There weren't any seats left so I was standing and the lower part of my back was touching the roof lol. The coolest part of the ride was that in Nahuala, everyone speaks Kichè and I honestly got a much greater love for the Spanish language since I can more or less at least understand that lol!
But yeah, Nahuala is pretty legit and the baptism there was all done in kichè which was a pretty cool experience. After this we ran to the busses to try and catch another bus back home.
So overall this week was pretty tiring, lol. And later today we´re supposed to be getting our new calls and tomorrow I'm going to be with my new companion. More than likely I'm going to be staying here since we just opened the area...I doubt they'd close it up again which is cool... but stinks at the same time. I really wanted to stay in the Xela misiòn but I think I'm staying coastal misiòn in Reu.
Thats it for this week.
Love you guys alot,
Elder Marquis
