Buenos Tardes all!
Yeah, one of the members asked us to move a new 40 inch TV into their house last night and me and Elder Mobley told them to turn it to the football game for a few minutes..lol..but we only saw like 5 seconds worth and then they changed it...they don't get American football...oh well.
Yeah, I heard that it has been super cold up North lately. Like there was 20 inches of snow up there or something..who knows. But no worries I'm still sweating my behind off down here daily, the heat never seems to let off, lol, and I'm getting darker for it. I was thinking, I will be getting home around this time next year and you guys are all pastey white from the cold and I'm going to be looking like I just got off a cruise, lololol!!!
Anyways, my favorite english speaking investigator, Jirum Andrade, is doing great right now!. He is progressing amazingly. He asks all the right questions and best of all he actually has a thought process!!!!
Questions:
How is Jose and his family doing?
He's doing well. We only have like one day out of the week for about one hour that we can visit with him and we missed him this past week sooooo, bummer.
How are your "kids" doing? Are they adjusting to the language and mission life well?
Elder Langi is on his way to becoming a future assistant one day, I think, and Elder Mobley is still such a funny guy, lol, I call him brown bear lol!
One of the other missions had a seventy visit...did he come to your mission as well?
No, we haven't received that opportunity yet so who knows.
When is your next conference?
The conferences usually come every 3 or 4 months so I would assume that we will be having one coming up here soon, hopefully.
I can't remember when I sent the smaller "Atonement" book...did you receive it yet?
Yeah, I really love this book and still have not had the opportunity to read it through all the way because the other elders like it too and I've let all of them read before me so now it's my turn lol.
OK..dad told you we are getting a box ready for you...I guess you probably won't get it for a month or so...but there will be some 17"shirts, pants, socks, ctr rings and a few goodies if there is room....I'm excited for you to get that stuff. If I can find a solid tie, I will send one of those too. What color would you like? I can't remember what I sent you.
Blues, greens, really any color and really and type of tie is fine.
What was your week like? Lots of tracting, or do you already have people to teach?
No, this area is pretty ligit with the members so we haven't had to tract a lot. We can usually go to a few of the members and they always have a reference or two ready for us to go contact. But yeah, these past few weeks have been pretty much trying to further the people that we have right now and really focus on them. But we always should be contacting I guess, lol.
What is one thing you have learned on your mission that you wish you had been doing all your life...
Studying, reading, meditating, and really applying the scriptures to my life. And of course learning more languages before my mission.
What does it feel like to see one of your converts go down into the waters of babtism?
Great! Because a lot of times they are only going through with the lessons on faith but when they get baptised you can see that conversion in their eyes and you know that they know. This past week we had a baptism for Juan Hernandez and then yesterday he received the priesthood and this coming Sunday he is going to bless the sacrament!!!!!! I'm so excited.
But yeah the other guys want to go eat so I have to get off now...lol.
Love you all tons!!!
Elder Marquis
