Buenos dias familia y a los demas,
So this week has been pretty fun. Something that really got me excited was when I found out that VERIZON HAS THE IPHONE NOW!!! and it happened on my year mark too!
Besides that its been like a pick up week, lol. This past week both me and my companion were feeling a little sick and just without any energy so we weren´t really putting out the full effort so this week we paid for it trying to play catch up with everyone. We talked to one of our investigators, Jirum Andrade, and we really drove it how much Christ really suffered and how if he doesn´t except the atonement for all that it is and receives a baptism, that door that Christ is holding open to return home, will be closed.
Then we had the wonderful opportunity to try and find the boss of one of our families and work something out to where the family could run down to Mexico for a day and get married. Come to find out that the boss is the father of the husband! What the heck! So we finally worked out with the dad a plan that would still allow him to earn a profit and let his son get married so that his wife could be eligible to be baptised.
We have hit a snag with one of our investigators, Kareen DeLeon. She has about 16 years and is married to one of the members and we have been teaching her. She has told us that she knows that everything is true and that the church has been restored and that the Book of Mormon is the word of God here on the earth and goes to church every Sunday... but for some reason won´t accept baptism. The reason that she continues to give us is that she wants to be converted in her heart before accepting baptism and we have explained that it is through faith that she can gain that knowing, but who knows..we will see how that goes. So those are our best investigators right now.
I´m finally falling down hill in time of my mission and its really wierd. Elder Dudely from the Xela office, my MTC companion just emailed me and sent me a funny little note. Its crazy. He´s been in the office since like month 6 and I´m beginning to believe that I will never get that opportunity... but whatever... the mission will go on and the gospel is true.
OH! A fun gospel note that I just found out through my studies....When we die and are perfected, our perfected bodies will not have blood but a spiritual essence flowing through our veins! And that glow that God and Jesus´ bodies gives off...for example... Jospeh Smith's 1st vision....is that spiritual essence glowing. I found this in the Infinite Atonement book and different scriptures throughout the BOM. Don´t know if you guys knew that or not but I thought it was cool...we wont have blood, lol. But anyways, the studies continue. From what I´ve learned the perfected body is AMAZING and although similar to the ones we have now...completely different.
Questions:
You keep calling your companion Elder Mosley, but I thought it was Mobley...which one is right?
His name is Elder Steven Mosley. Elder Mobley was his trainer.
Was it Juan that was babtized last week? Did he get to bless the sacrament this week? How did that go?
It went well I suppose. We had to travel to try and pick up some investigators that weren´t even home and ended up missing the sacrament but when we got there later we saw him sitting up there and smiling.
Tell us about your investigators...how are they progressing?
Good and bad, lol. Jirum is going to get baptised on the 26th of this month. Karen, is another. She goes to church every week and says that she believes in everything and the only thing she is waiting for is for her to know by HEART, and we told her that maybe she isn´t going to know that unless she puts her faith to trial and gets baptised so hopefully we can get that before the end of this month. And then there is Yasmin. We have to get them to Mexico to get married and then baptised by the end of these two weeks...sooooooo....fingers crossed.
Did you recognize your "Hump Day" with anything special....? you know..burn the shirt or whatever??
Nope, just another work day, lol. I´m not really down with the whole burning clothes thing...there are a lot of people here that don´t have clothes, so to go and burn it would be a pretty jerk thing to do. But I might go buy a piece of cake or something, lol.
Ooops gotta go, overtime, lol!
Love you all tons,
E. Marquis
